Upon Confirmation by the Land Commission
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles have by their decision awarded unto M. Kekauonohi, Land Commission Award 11216, Apana 42, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial, in and to the land hereafter described, and whereas Claus Spreckles, the present owner of the within described land has applied to the Minister of the Interior for a Royal Patent on the same a Certificate of the Boundaries being filed and the Government Commutation having been relinquished by a Resolution of the Privy Council during the reign of Kamehameha III.
Therefore, Lunalilo Kalakaua, by the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known to all men, that he has, for himself and for his successors in office, this day granted and given absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto M. Kekauonohi all that certain piece of land situate at known as the Ahupuaa of Hakalaunui Hilo in the Island of Hawaii, and described as follows:

.... et in ground about 100 feet makai of a bambu [bamboo] clump by road;
North 56° 27' East 1350 feet to Hala tree by Auwai, marked I
North 40° 39' East 1000 feet to rock marked [triangle] by Auwai;
North 47° 09' East 758 feet to rock marked T by Auwai;
North 79° 23' East 1030 feet;
North 67° 24' East 450 feet to rock marked V at makai side of main road;
North 69° 48' East 1064 feet to the initial point.
Containing 12.580 acres [12,580] Acres, more or less, excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government all mineral or metallic mines of every description.
To Have and to Hold the above granted Land in Fee Simple, unto the said M. Kekauonohi, her Heirs and Assigns forever, subject to taxes to be from time to time imposed by the Legislative Council, equally upon all Landed Property held in Fee Simple.
In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the Great Seal of the Hawaiian Islands to be affixed, this ninth day of July 1881.
