No. 7453, Royal Patent Upon Confirmation of the Land Commission.
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to Quiet Land Titles have by their decision awarded unto A. Keohokalole, Land Commission Award 8452, Apana 19 [note: Apana 6 & 21] an estate of Freehold less than Allodial, in and to the land hereafter described, and whereas proper applications having been made by Messrs Castle & Hatch, attornies [sic] for H. Cornwall, Esquire, to the Ministers of Interior for a Royal Patent for the within described land, a certified copy of the boundaries of the same, having been filed and the Government Commutations thereon relinquished by an order of the Privy Council during the reign of Kamehameha III,
Therefore, Lunalilo Kalakaua, by the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known unto all men, that he has, for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto A. Keohokalole, all that certain piece of land known as Kamehamenui & Kealahou 3 & 4, Makawao, in the Island of Maui and described as follows:
Commencing at a pile of stones at edge of gulch near the Waterhole called "Kahaipuaa," ....

.... 360 feet along Waiakoa;
30. South 54° 43 West true 206 feet along Waiakoa to a cross cut on edge of precipice on large gulch where a small deep gulch meets it; thence
31 Along down bottom of gulch, along Waiakoa to a cross cut on a rock at a waterhole called Kahaipuaa, and from thence up north bank of gulch to initial point. Traverse down gulch being:
1. South 59° 4 West true 490 feet to point on edge of precipice at the bend of gulch
2. North 70° 10 West true 2091 feet to initial point.

Containing an area of Five thousand and sixty-seven Acres, more or less; excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government, all mineral or metallic mines of every description.
To have and to hold the above granted land in Fee Simple, unto the said A. Keohokalole, [her] heirs and assigns forever, subject to the taxes to be from time to time imposed by the Legislative council, equally upon all landed property held in Fee Simple.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the Hawaiian islands to be affixed, this 22 day of April, 1880
