Greetings to the Land Commissioners: We have a claim in the Ahupua`a of Halawa on the Island of Molokai. The name of this `ili is Mokuhewa, and it is bounded on the mauka side by the `ili of Manawai, for Kahinu, and on the makai side by the `ili of Hopuhewa, for Kueeau.
We have occupied this claim from ancient times. Paia, the konohiki, gave it to Lukini, my makuakane, /and it has been held/ from then until the present. Timoteo is the konohiki at present. I have occupied and cultivated this land until this time. I have gone to ....
