Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I have a claim in an `ili to the Ahupua`a of Halawa, Island of Molokai. Kaopa is the name of the `ili. The `ili on the mauka side is Mokuhunia, for Nuhi, and the `ili makai is Kaiwae. The pali of Puupa is above, and a stream is below.
This land has been held for a very long time. Paia, a former konohiki gave it to my makuas, and they are all dead and I have inherited the land, until the present. Timoteo is the present konohiki.
