No. 5007, Kaainoa, Kaiwiki, Hilo, Hawaii, January 14, 1848
N.R. 700v8
Greetings to the Land Commissioners at Honolulu, Oahu:I hereby state my claim for land received from the overseers of the land on October 1, 1847. My kihapais are in the middle off the land and are 120 fathoms by 120 fathoms. This land is in Kaiwiki 1. Vegetable food /taro and/ or sweet potatoes/ are growing on this land. My house is in Kaiwiki 2. I have measured the lot and it is 50 fathoms by 10 fathoms. However, there is much trouble with this place of mine because of rocks and the pali - those are the things which obstruct this place of mine. That is my statement to you.
