No. 4525, Opunui
N.R. 1v7
Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, Opunui, am on the Island of Molokai, in the Ahupua`a of Honoulimalo/o/. I have an `ili named Kaluapaholo. Mauka is Kapapala, makai is Pukaiki, on the south side is the lapa wahie*, on the north side is Pioeoe. There is no kula, nor mountain area. It has not been surveyed. The former lord of the land was Kinimaka, from Kinimaka it went to Pualani, from Pualani to Lima. Those have been the lords of the land when I began to occupy this place in peace. My witnesses are Kauakahi, Koahoouka and Puu. Therefore, I have a claim in this `ili for you, the Land Commissioners, to consider, and to award. It is finished.
Farewell to you all.
