Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I have a claim for land which is stated to you, in the Ahupua'a of Waialua on the Island of Molokai, Hawaiian Islands.

The right of occupancy of the land was from ancient times, from my kupunas, who are dead, to my makuas, who are dead, until it became mine. Kapuahi was their lord, and Kapuahi's lord was Kanepueo, and Kanepueo's lord was Piia. However, we have been the house dwellers.

When they died, the entire mo'o was inherited by me.

I hereby state the stadia and the chains and the fathoms and the yards and the feet of the dimensions. The length is 1 stadia, 0 chains, 9 fathoms 0 yards, 0 feet. Its width is 4 chains 0 fathoms 0 yards 0 feet. I will describe its boundaries and its diagrams:

Furthermore, I state that there is a lihi* for this one mo'o which is far inland.

I also have a claim for a lot which I have had for seven years. It is 3 chains 50 feet, 2 yards long by 1 chain 48 feet wide.

Kaanaana lived there in 1836. The konohiki has 1 patch there. No one has objected.

Puna, sworn, I have seen his house lot in Wailau.

Kamalo by Meeting house.

I have seen Napaepae, Kaanaana's son living in this place in 1839. He built a house which fell apart in 1851. There is a fence and there are plants.

Kamaipelekane, sworn, I had seen Napaepae living there in 1845, previous to this he had built a house and had enclosed the land. No objections to this day.
