To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby state my claim for land in Kapana in Honolulu. This land was from my makuakane. It was completely planted in sugarcane when my makuakane got it, and he died in the year 1845. This land was bequeathed to me. From that time there have been no objections.

Land from his father, Kaiawa in1840 as a bequest, Kaiawa, Sr. had received it from Kaniua long before the death of Kinau. Kaiawa deserted the land early this year of 1854, and is with Hopkins in Koolau. The land is overrun with weeds and because of the opposition by R.C. Wyllie, the land has not been cultivated to this day.
