Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, Kahuaina, on the Island of Molokai, in the Ahupua'a of Moakea, have an 'ili in this Ahupua'a, named Halelena. It lies between some other 'ilis - Papio is mauka, a pali is on one side, Kalaipahoa is makai, 7 fathoms wide, a stream is on one side. Its length is 7 chains and its width is 7 fathoms.

This 'ili lies in the valley and is narrow and crooked; there is also a kula, 13 chains long by 10 chains wide. There is a mountain area far mauka, also, in this 'ili.

The ali'i from the time this land became mine has been Kekauonohi -- she gave it to Kaunakakai /who gave it/ to Laanui, that ....
