Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, a man of the island of Kauai, hereby state my claim for land. It is on the west of Namauu's land, on the east of the sand /beach/ of Mahamoku, on the north of Hawaiiloa, and on the south is the muliwai of Waiaula.
It measures 3 chains on the north, also 3 chains on the south, 2 chains on the east, 2 chains on the west. That is my claim for land, for you to award. /It has been held(?)/ from 1838 until this day. I am, respectfully, your very humble servant.
