Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, Kahopukahi, o the Island of Molokai, have a small `ili in the Ahupua`a of Honoulimaloo, which is named Pauoa. It is on the north of Pilipili, under Keauhau. This `ili lies between some other `ilis and its length is 16 chains and the width is five chains. This `ili has a kula which is named Kaioele. Pilipili is on the north, on the south is Kapehu. The length of the kula is 19 /chains?/, the width is 2 chains, a small kula in the middle of some other `ilis.
My occupation of this `ili was from /the time of/ Kamehameha I. The Ali`is have been Kaiko, Haaheo, and Keohokalole and the konohikis have been Kahalekulu, Kahilinalo, Kekuanui, kaha, Mauna and Lima. The witnesses are Koahoouka, Puu and Kauakahi. Therefore, it is for you, the Commissioners, to consider and confirm my claim. It is finished. Farewell to you all.
