Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I have a claim for land which I hereby state to you, in the Ahupua`a of Honomuni, Island of Molokai, which I have occupied from ancient times. I will tell you its dimensions: The length is 2 stadia and 6 chains, its length on the east side, 2 stadia 1 chain, 4 fathoms 1 yard and 1 foot is its length on the west side, 6 chains 5 fathoms 2 yards, 2 feet, is the length on the north side. 5 chains 10 fathoms 1 yard 2 ....

.... and Keoni was the substitute, he has deserted the land of my father which is at Haleokane, Honomuni, Molokai.
He went to Kalaupapa in 1848 and has been living there to the present time. He has never done konohiki work, nor has he contributed to the taxes of the land and I think he has no claim, it is for the konohiki.
