Hear ye, ye Land Commissioners: I hereby state my claim for land to you all. The name of this claim is Nukupono, and it has a fishery in it. That is my right from my makuas, for 17 years, from 1832, from the death of Kaahumanu until the present. That is my claim at Haiku.
Furthermore, I have a claim, named Waikina, in Pauwela which is the Ahupua`a. It has been occupied for 17 years and is similar to that /first/ claim, also there is a pauku of taro and a kula.
Furthermore, there is a claim for our place of residence, named Haliipali, in Pauwela, which has been occupied from the time ....
