To the Land Commissioners, greetings: I, a Hawaiian subject living at Waioli, Kauai, hereby explain to you about my land at Lumahai. Kamaiki, an 'ili in the Ahupua'a of Lumahai has been held by me from the time of Kaumualii until the present. I acquired the land as follows: In the time before the missionaries arrived on Kauai, I was living at Waimea with Kaumualii- we surfed together- and he said to me "Our /your/ land is at Lumahai, named Kamaiki." Kekela (w), sworn, [s]he has seen the two ili lands of Noa in Lumahai, name Kamaihi and Kokoeha, they are together in one area. There is one tenant for these lands, he is the nephew of Noa.

Nuku, sworn, he has known this land is the same way as Kekela. He has not known of any disputes.
