No. 147 Kalunaaina
Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I am telling you of a portion of my land which has been taken by Hoo-liliamanu; because I have a right in the land from Kamehameha III; therefore that part of my land should be returned to me, since we did not speak of this place becoming Hooliliamanu's. I have had the place properly surveyed.

Kalunaaina's land is from the king and is an inherited land. I had known before the death of Kaahumanu I that the land was for Kalunaaina. Ulumaheihei had the property formerly and upon his death, it was acquired by Kalunaaina and in these days recently the land was granted permanently to him and his heirs at the time of the Mahele. Ulumaheihei is a younger brother of Kalunaaina so this land was given to Kalunaaina. There is no fence surrounding this land; however, there are many houses there for Kalunaaina and his subjects. This is a grant land to Kalunaaina and his heirs because the king had already made certain for his own portion and this property had been the remaining land."
