The Land Commissioners, greetings: I, Kihepono, a Hawaiian subject living at Koloa, island of Kauai hereby state my claim for land. However, I have two land claims -- one is at Paa. This claim is bounded: on the north by Kamaemae, on the east by Weliweli, on the south by Kahoiwai, and on the west by the ascending road. Those are the boundaries of this claim. My occupancy in Koloa was from Ko/a/kanu until the present time of P. Kanoa.

Here is this claim of mine at Paa. There are seven lo`i, two valleys planted with wauke and also a kula planted in sugar cane. It is 122 long by 99 wide.

At the time of the war at Makapuu, I occupied this. The land was inherited by Wahine and the kaikamahine; howeve ....
