Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby state to you that my house lot is 20 fathoms long by 10 wide. There is also a lo`i, 36 fathoms long by 15 fathoms wide. There is also a kula which adjoins the lo`i; it is an enclosure for pigs, 20 fathoms long by 20 fathoms wide. There is also another kula, from Kapuniai, which is 27 fathoms long by 4 fathoms wide. my house lot and lo`i and kula which adjoins it were from Kaikioewa. I have held them 12 years.
My house lot is bounded makai by Kanaio, mauka by Numahana; Liliha's place is on the east, Kaleku's is on the west. my lo`i is at Halepua. Kalino is the makai boundary, Elia is on the east, Kahopuhopula is mauka, and a watercourse is on the west.

Iona, sworn, says, I know the land of the Claimant. They are in Waimea Kauai. They consist of the following pieces thus:
No. 1 is a house lot in the ili Peekauai.
No. 2 is a loi and hog pen.
No. 3 is a kula piece.
No. 1 is bounded by a fence:
Mauka by "Namahana" a loi
Hanapepe by Kapuniai's house lot
Makai by Kanaio a fish pond
Mana by Naakaakai's house lot.
No. 2 is bounded:
Mauka by Kahopukopulai's land
Hanapepe by Kapuniai's land
Makai by Kalino lois and mine and Kuliakau's house lot
Mana by an auwai dividing it ....

Section 3, Kanaele.
Kapuniai had objected to the claim, but the land had extended into Pawale's interest, No. 2982. The reason for this objection was unknown.
Mopua, sworn: after the death of Kaikioewa, Emilia became the governor and Kapehe was the tax assessor. The tax assessor made settlements on the boundaries of this section. He returned that loi for Pawale assuming that it was the boundary of Pawale's moo land, but it was not this way. Earlier it had been a koele loi for the Konohiki. Pawale had it for one or two years, perhaps and then Emilia took it again.
Maihiili is Emilia's loi which adjoins Kanaele and the care taker of Kanaele stole the fish of Maihiili by letting Kanaele's over flow of water into Maihiili. The rise of water in Mailiili brings the fish to the surface and flows into Kanaele. Emilia felt that this action was very mischievous on Pawale's approval. This land has been Emilia and Puniai since that time to the present.
Section 2 has been objected by the heirs of Kekaulike, their reason for this action is unknown to the witness.
Hakuole, sworn, Iona's statement which was made on Tuesday was true and Maluaikoo and Mopua's statements given today were true and accurate.
