Greetings to the Land Commissioners: makuakane I have a petition: My father was Kamehameha First's subject. His name was Opunui. His lands on Oahu were Kapiwai and other lands, but this petition is not for those other lands - the reason is that I have waited 8 months. I am the second heir. My makuakane died in the time of Kamehameha III and he willed his property to my kaiku`ana as his heir and he dwelt under the King, and died on November 22, 1845, and he beque ....

.... nd so we sold Maunawili to these two and received Kapiwai. I do not know about Makahonu's (plural) rights at Kapiwai. It is them only.
Ku's sworn testimony:
I am the property co-owner with Keliikanakaole before; Maunawili was ours.
It was bequested to me for a year. Kuamaho came after us and for one year the land was for this person here. Previously I had lived below and only Kuamaho was above and it has been that way to this time. No one has objected and in the month of November 1845 just passed we were separated and at this time Kamakahonu has raised objections.
