To the Land Commissioners, respectfully: I, Nawaakoa, hereby explain my claim, an `Ili named Pohakuou in the Ahupua'a of Paunau in Lahaina, Island of Maui. However, there are two pauku /small sections/ in this land. One side is at Paunau kai and one is at Paunau uka. The 'Ili tax No. 3 is $1.50. My claim for which I petition you is that I have given my annual poll tax and have gone to the po`alima work.
