Kalakaua, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this His Royal Patent, makes known to all men, that he hath for himself, his heirs and successors, this day granted and given unto for the consideration of paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that piece of Land situate at in the Island of , and described as follows:
That whereas the Trustees under the will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop have made application in writing to the Minister of the Interior for a Royal Patent for the Ahupuaa of Umauma situate in the District of Hilo in the Island of Hawaii; And Whereas it ....

Containing two thousand two hundred (2200) Acres, more or less; excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government all mineral or metallic Mines of every description.
To have and to hold the above granted Land in Fee Simple, unto the said Trustees under the Will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the successors Heirs and Assigns forever.
Witness Ourself at Honolulu, this thirteenth day of July 1887, in the fourteenth year of Our Reign.
