Kalakaua, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, By this, His Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself, his heirs and successors, this day granted and given unto the Honokaa Sugar Company, for the consideration of Seven Hundred and seventy six Dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that piece of Land situate at Koloaha, Hamakua in the Island of Hawaii and described as follows:
Lot No. 2.
Beginning at a stone marked [triangle] at Southeast corner of Land Commission Award 8131 (Haka) from which the large sharp rock at South ....

Area 35 8/10 Acres
Containing – 77 60/100 Acres, more or less; excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government, all mineral or metallic mines of every description.
To have and to hold the above granted Land in Fee Simple, unto the said Honokaa Sugar Company, Heirs and Assigns forever.
Witness Ourself, at Honolulu, this tenth day of November, 1880, in the seventh year of Our Reign.
