To the Land Commissioners, Honolulu: I hereby explain my claim:
Kahuna was above and we were below, and when he died it went to Kalua and I was under, then he was dispossessed and it went to Palimoo and we were under, still. I have taro and a half lo`i on the south, a small parcel of kula, and a house lot. Finished.

Claimant had this from Kaunohua, time of Boki & has held it undisputed till 1847, when Kaunohua took awaykalo patch and some kula land. Claimant died this year, leaving it to Nawe, his wife and child. Palemo retains the part seized. Claimant does the weekly work for government. And always did it well as far as I know.

.... at Puulena in Manoa. Kaiama cultivated it and bargained his goods derived from the patches of the konohiki well. Poki had come and when he had recognized this good work, he commented, "Do work for the satisfaction of the chief; here are your three patches." These are those patches over which there is a dispute. In the year 1835, this land was given to Kaiama permanently and he had managed it to 1838. He died at this time and this land was bequested to Kaaea, his young brother, where he is living since that time. Kaunuohua began to cultivate this land with the konohiki people in 1847 without Kaaea's approval and when the yield had reached maturity, the cash derived from it was divided in one-half between Kaaea and Kaunuohua. That is what I have known.
On this 26th day of February 1853, a decision was passed by G. M. Robertson, J. Ii and J. Kekaulahao: Kaaea's claim no. 1930 is correct and shall be confirmed.
