Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this his Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Kalawaiahou, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Twenty one Dollars paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Makawao in the Island of Maui and described as follows:
Commencing at stake at East corner of this on left side of Papaleniu Gulch and North corner of Kahanapule's, and running
North 48° 45' West 10 chains 10 feet to ....
