Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto William L. Lee, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of One Hundred and Five Dollars ($105.), paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Pauwela, Hamakualoa in the Island of Maui and described as follows:
Beginning at a Wiliwili shrub on the East bank just above the junction of the brooks Kuiaha and Pauwela at the bridge Waikina and running
South 63 3/4° West 14.90 Chains along road leading to Kalanikahua to Kaniau land
North 22 3/4° West 21 Chains along Kan ....
