Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto William P. Alexander, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of One Dollar (& services rendered M. Kekuanaoa and R. Armstrong), paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Upper Haiku, Hamakualoa in the Island of Maui and described as follows:
Beginning in the ravine which separates [sic] Haiku from Makawao, at the upper part of the Pool called Alelele, and running
North 88° West 7 Chains to a Kukui tree
North 20° 12' East 48.17 Chains to a Koa tree on the brink of the ravine called Puaahookui
North 45° East 2.72 Chains
South 39° East 19.71 Chains to brink of said ravine on the haiku side
Note. A line along the Eastern brink of the ravine Puaahookui is the boundary between Haiku and Puuomalei.
North 12° 50' East 23.72 Chains to Kukui trunk marked A in plot
