Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Preston Cummings his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Three Hundred & Seventy 60/100 Dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Kona, in the Island of Hawaii, and described as follows:
Commencing at pile of stones at mauka North corner of this land, joining Charles Hall's land at North of this, and running
South 66° 45' West 55 Chains along down South boundary of Charles Hall's land to mauka East corner of stone wall of bullock Lot, thence
South 65° 45' West 29 Chains 39 1/2 feet along bullock lot wall to its makai South corner, being also the makai West ....
