Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto John Young, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of One Thousand Dollars paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at the Palace, Honolulu, in the Island of Oahu, and described as follows:
Commencing at North corner of this lot joining Haaliimaile or Waialeale Street at West corner of the Sumner dwelling house lot and running
South 46° East 2 Chains 57 1/2 feet along makai side of wall between this & Sumner lot to palace yard. Thence offset at right angle 5 1/2 feet makai to dwelling house in this lot. Then off ....
