Greetings to the Land Commissioners: We petition you for our village from ancient times of /the battle of/ Nuuanu, which Kamehameha I gave to our father and where we all lived until Liliha's death, when it was taken by someone else, with all its rights. Here is this about the name of this place, but we are not done telling you our thoughts.

Heleheva claims on behalf of Kahinaina, a minor, of whom he is the guardian.
Bartimeus Kaihele, witness, sworn deposed, Kamehameha Ist gave the land in question to the grandfather of the claimant at the time when Rihoriho was at Puroa and the Missionaries begged him to turn from his sins, and he refused, saying, wait five years, and then I will do it. Kapule, sworn, I have seen the house lot of Helehewa lying at Aki, Lahaina, Maui.
Mauka, Government road
Olowalu, Pika's lot
Makai, sea
Kaanapali, Hoohei's lot.
Helehewa had received this house lot from Kamehameha III in 1841. After some peaceful living, he sold it to Kale, a native for $250.00 and Kale has lived there peacefully to the present.
Auwaa, sworn, the statements about Helehewa's claim are true and the sale to Kale is clear because later Helehewa had demanded the remaining payment of the sale. the judges ordered the payment and Kale has paid the entire amount and the land has been conveyed permanently to Kale, where he has been living peacefully to the present time. No objections.
