To the Honorable Board of Land Commissioners: Gentlemen:
Enclosed I send you the survey of a spot of ground in the district of Hilo on a land called Pihonua, the same having been in my possession for the last 10 years, and in that of my wife for 7 or 8 years previous with the exception of a small piece in the upper corner, which was given me by the konohiki in 1844 on account of the road being altered at that time and it being the most suitable place for me to put up a house, and unoccupied & uncultivated.
All the above-mentioned land I have improved and paid taxes for from year to year for the last 10 years.
I stand ready thus far to substantiate my claim to the above-mentioned land whenever called upon.
As it might be inconvenient to take to Oahu some whose testimony might be required, please let me know if this deposi ....
