To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my claim for land in the `ili of Kaunala, It is a mo`o `aina adjoining Kapaloa, on the east is Kewalo, and on the north is Kuhia's place, on the south is Paniani's place, on the west is Laenui's place and a house lot,

Keawepooli, sworn, This place is along side the last in Kewalo, in one lot, bounded:
Mauka by my place
Waititi by Puunui's land
Makai by Kanuku's
Ewa by road leading to PauoaValley.
There is one house of claimant and no fence. It also contains abaout 10 patches beside other land. Claimant got the place from Ihu in Kinau's time and has lived there ever since in peace. Ihu is dead.

The boundaries are:
Mauka, land of Kaiwi
Waikiki, land of Laenui
Makai, land of Kaiwi
Ewa, land of J. Booth, Paukanui, Kaaukai, Puunui and Kahuaina.
Namaka's land is from Aheakalani during the time of Kinau and while he /Namaka/ was working in the salt beds in Moanalua in 1825 and he has lived comfortably to the present time. No one has objeted, except for Kahuaaina, who has taken one of my patches without any provocation on my part.
Kekuanoni, sworn, The statements above are true. I have known in the same way.

No. 1120, Namaka, Honolulu, April 1, 1851, from page 116, protest, Kaiwi.
Kuhia, sworn, the single patch which had been planted with rice and which runs into Namaka's intrest is a Friday patch. It is for the konohiki, who had received it from the preceding konohiki to the present time. It is not for the natives. I am denying, Namaka has no claim in that patch. He has his own patch, nine of them.
