Greetings to the Mo`i's Land Commissioners: I hereby tell you truthfully of my rightful claims:
1. I have a little mo`o `aina within the `ili `aina called Kaliu, in Honolulu. Within that mo`o `aina is a little house lot also, for my kaikua`ana, and his patches, which he has left for me to tell you of, as he is living under me. This mo`o `aina is under the konohiki, in the customary way.
2. I have a claim for a little house lot at Peleula, from M. Kekuanaoa. This was formerly a place where cane was ground by the Chinese. This is my claim for you to know. There are many witnesses who know of my occupation of the mo`o `aina. M. Kekuanaoa is the witness for the house lot which he gave me.

Umiokalani, sworn and stated, "I have seen this property; however, it is not exactly as Kekuanaoa has just stated because a small portion of Kapena's land is in Mary's lot. The correct boundary of Mary's property on the Ewa side would be the property fence. Mary has been living on this place a very long time and Kapena's small portion which Mary has possessed was realized a very long while after the law had been in effect. Mary herself had said, "Jonah Pehu has given me this property." This land has been in Pehu's keeping during the past years."
