To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I, Pulupuluole, hereby tell you of my claims: eight patches, two irrigation ditches, a small kula, and a house lot, which are in the `ili `aina of Kaukahoku, in Kapalama, adjoining Honolulu, Island of Oahu. I have lived there 12 years.

Ewa, land of Naopala.
The king had given Kekai his land at the time of the riot by Kaomi in 1834 and he /Kekai/ had lived comfortably to 1848. Then this land was given to him permanently by virtue of the Mahele.
Kekaawe, sworn, I have returned that one half patch in Kaukahoku which is in the interest of Pulupuluole to the konohiki, but the crop which was growing thereon was mine and when the harvest was over, the land was conveyed to Kekai permanently.
