No. 1037, Hanunu, Honolulu, Oahu, October 12, 1847
N.R. 600v2
To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my house lot claim at Koleaka in Honolulu, on the south side of the stream. It is bounded on the north by the stream, on the east by my patches, on the south by the road, on the west by the land of Geogi /George/.
This place was given me by Nawai in the year 1836, perhaps. The three houses in it are mine. They have been held peacefully and at this time A. Kelliahonui is objecting. -
I also have 12 patches, at Koleaka, all together in one place. They also adjoin the mauka side of this house lot. They were held peacefully and at this time A. Keliiahonui is objecting.
I am, with aloha,
HANUNU

John Ii, sworn and stated, "When Kalawahine was for Kinopu and even before that I had seen Hanunu living on this place for which he is claiming and he had lived there from the year 1832 or probably 3 to this day, but there was no fence there at that time, and as I have seen it is true that he has lived there. The trees which his parents have planted are growing there. Kupo had lived there to his death and the interest was inherited by his wife, Kalehua. She had a house there at that time. When Kalehua left that place, Hanunu lived there and she has never returned to this day. Kamanu has had the place enclosed.
