To the Honorable Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my land claim which is at Kewalo, Island of Oahu. It is bounded on the north by the lands of Kauakuike, Pila and Kamokupanee, on the east by an irrigation ditch, on the south by the land of Kukae, on the west by the irrigated land of Pahoa, and the po`alima. Also, two po`alima patches are situated in my claim and the konohiki. Kauakuike gave me those formerly. My house claim is at Auwaiolimu. It is bounded on the north by a schoolhouse and the road, on the east by the houses of Kaka, on the south by a road, on the west by the stream.

Kanakuike, sworn and stated, "I had given the two parcels of taro land to Lae at the time of Kaahumanu. I had given nine patches in section two, two patches in section three and a pasture, but in the gear 1847, I had asked for a *koele because that had been a koele at one time. Kaowai is the person who had objected." Pg. 44
