Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby enter my houselots at Lahaina. Three lots are just mauka of the Fort, and two lots are mauka at Puou.
I also claim a coconut /grove?/ at Lahaina, outside of Mala. It was the makuas who labored on that and fenced it completely.

Kaupena, sworn, This place is in Lahaina Maui.
1. First - House lot is bounded:
Mauka by land formerly owned by Mr. Richards, by Paihia and Mahine and Puuki and the road leading to the Meeting House.
Holualu side bounded by stream separating it from Government land
Makai by Government trail & Market house
Kaanapali by on Young's place (containing also kalo patches)
There are about 10 houses in the place described, 5 belon ....

.... are some rental units and they are mine. I lived under Kaeo on this property.
4.The boundaries of the lot at Mala are:
The king's land toward the mountain
Kapunakea land Oloalu
a road leading to Kaanapali toward the sea, and
at Kaanapali is land for the king.
Kaeo received all of these lots at the time the Fort was being built. There are some patches at Lahainaluna also at Kapunakea.
Kaauwai, sworn and stated, "I have seen all of these places just as Kaupena has stated here. The lot at Puou was received during the reign of Liholiho, the lot at Mala during the time of Kamehameha I, the lot at the back of the Fort was obtained in the year 1829 and this lot was acquired in 1839. Kaeo had received these lots from Kalaikoa because he is the father and Kaeo is the heir of Kalaikoa. No one has objected to him.
