To The Land Commissioners, Greetings: William L. Lee, J.H. Smith, Kaauwai, John Ii, N. Namauu. I hereby tell you of my claim for house lot in Apili, an 'ili `aina at Kalihi on Oahu. It is bounded on the north by the lot of Kewiki, on the east by the Government Road lying between Honolulu and Ewa, on the south by the hog pen, on the east by the road going inland from the sea.
I claim five patches and a kula makai, and a separate mo`o `aina mauka within Niau I, an `Ili `aina in Kalihi on Oahu. The makai patches are bounded on the north by the land of Kama, on the east and the south by a stone wall, on the west by the house and the tomb. The mo`o `aina, mauka, is bounded on the north by the stream, on the east by the road, on the south by the hog pen, on the west by a road.
l have a claim for eight patches within Niau 2 in Kalihi on Oahu, described as follows: one patch is makai of the Patch of Laanui, one patch is mauka of the po`alima patch of Kalaauolupe, two patches are to the east of a house, and four patches are to the east of the patches of Kahau.
I have a claim for a single patch in Kamalama in Kalihi which adjoins to the east of the patch of Kahau.

Kalaau's house site and Kukona's land, Ewa.
There is no fence on this place and it was obtained from Ewa in the year 1845. These were two patches. Ewa had lived here in 1840 when Kahau had been the konohiki at that time and Ewa cultivated the land only under the konohiki. He did not own any land there. It was plain land here and no one had objected to Kamalanai.

Kalaau's place is on the Ewa side
Kala is toward the mountain
a ditch, Waikiki and Kalaau's land, toward the sea also.
There is no fence on this place and Kamalanai had received this land from Ewa.

Kalaau's land is toward the mountain
Weuweu's land, Waikiki and toward the sea and
Kalaau's land, Ewa.
These boundaries contain two patches and the origin of obtaining them is the same.

Paniani's land is toward the mountain
plain land lot, Waikiki and toward the sea and
Weuweu's land, Ewa.
These patches were acquired in the same manner as those patches and Alika is the only claimant for this land."
Kahookoikoi, sworn and stated, "I have seen all of Kamalanai's places just as Kahunahana has related here."
