Greetings to the Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands: I, Keakahiwa, am the one who petitions for my claims to my three taro patches. The interest in two patches is very old, from M. Kekuanaoa who was the konohiki from whom I got these patches. I got one patch from Kaniku, the konohiki. Here are the dimensions of the patches from M. Kekuanaoa, who was the konohiki; First patch is, on the north, 26 fathoms 3 feet, on the east, 21 fathoms 1 foot, on the south, 38 fath-oms 4 feet, on the west, 12 fathoms 3 feet. The rear patch is, on the north, 31 fathoms 4 feet, on the east, 12 fathoms 3 feet, on the south, 26 fathoms 4 feet, on the west, 7 fathoms 3 feet, that is the first one.

.... Kuapuhi by name. He had received this interest from Kamehameha I and had lived as a lopa* since that time. He died in1840.
3. The boundaries of the third patch are:
Kamana's land, Ewa
Kahaleaahu's place, mountainside
Kamana's place, Waikiki and
Kaniku's land, oceanside.
This is the second of the old patches that Kuapuhi had owned and Keakahiwa has these patches at this time.
Kaleo, sworn by the Word of God and said, "I have seen these three patches of Keakahiwa and everything about them just as Kamakee has related to you here."
