Greetings to the Land Commissioners: The Mo`i. has directed me and Akoni to work on Akoni's claim. His house lot us outside of the Moo lot, along Nuuanu Street, makai of the house of Mr. Kekina /Thurston?/ and mauka of the lot of Hale Nika /Harry Wallis/ between there. Akoni is the one with the right, not Malia, wahine of Kaulahao. That is my message to you, with everlasting thanks.

Jona Piikoi, sworn, I make this claim for Akoni by the King's direction. He is living in the same yard as that of Manuel Joseph. The place is in Honolulu, bounded:
Ewa by Nuuanu Street
Mauka by Henry Skinner's premises
Waititi by hale moo
Makai by place formerly owned by Wallis.
It is fenced and has two houses, belonging to Akoni, and also the fence which he built. He received the land from the King through Boki about 1828. Akoni lived there from that time till the streets were made. The place then included land on the Ewa side of ....

.... ;I have seen this place of Akoni for I was the super-visor for the construction of the road at that time. I had seen the king on his return from Kauai buy this moo land from the foreigners and then left Kapokini. When the moo lot had been possessed by the chief, I saw Akoni living on that place, which was the time Poki was the governor of Oahu here and as I began to work on the roads, I saw Iosepa's mother living there. It was the grounds where upon her house had stood that I had raised and when I had built the street, part of their lot had been taken for the street, so Akoni received a new place. I had given it to them and Akoni lived with her mother on the same place but when I had given that place to them, their places were all the same. I had not known nor heard previously that some of them had lived under another. I have given them all equal shares. I have not known the person who had built Akoni's fence, but I had asked Kaaloa, who is Iosepa's mother's husband, to build the wall. I had placed three people to live on this place: Iosepa's mother, John Hobbs' wife, also Akoni.
