I, Kenahu, hereby petition you, the Land Commissioners for my house lot claim. It is an ancient right, from the kupunas of my husbands- -a new one from /the time of the battle of/ Nuuanu, and also my hus-band when I lived with them here. At the time of the Kauai war, my husband, Kanihokamoku, and I "ate" land at Kahookane. At another time so also did their ancestors, and this house lot has been occupied since long ago. The husbands have died and this place was bequeath-ed to me and I have a true right to live here. Also, Kapoli gave me this place at this time, and the relatives of Aukane are living here and some of them are my witnesses. Here is the diagram, below, showing the dimensions. .... ced. There are two houses in there, both for Kenahu where Ikiiki is now living under Kenahu. He has lived there in peace since the battle of Kauai.
Kanihookamoku, Kenahu's father, had given him this interest and he (Kenahu) had died in 1839. Since that time to this date, only now I hear that Namauu has objected."
Kumuhea, sworn and stated, "What I have known for this place is the same as all of Hawaii's statements which have been related here and only on this day I hear Namauu is objecting to him. Kanihookamoku, his grandfather, had given Kenahu this interest and he has lived peacefully to this day; he is being objected."
