Sir:
This is to certify that I desire a Royal Patent to be granted for the lot of Nuuanu St. purchased by me of the late Honorable L. Haalelea.
Accompanying this petition, please find a description of the same,

Accompanying Description
Description of that portion of the lot on Nuuanu Street, Honolulu, Oahu, now owned by M.B. Beckwith, to which the title of said M.B. Beckwith is a deed from Levi Haalelea, See Records, Liber 16, pp, 146 & 147 (Ili Aina o Kalawahine).
Beginning on the Northwest side of Nuuanu Street, 47 feet from the present corner of School Street and running as follows:
I. North 41°20' East true, 205 feet along Nuuanu St.
II. North 47° 10' West true 100 feet along J.T. Waterhouse lot;
III. North 42° 30' West true 98 feet along the same;
IV. South 42° 30' West true 56 3/10 feet along Antone's lot;
V. South 19° 30' West true 27 feet along Royal Patent to Ainini;
V [sic]South 35° 45' West true 128 feet along the same;
VI. South 40° 30' East true 105 feet along property [?] W. Livingstone's;
VII. North 44° 30' East true 10 ½ feet along the same;
VIII. South 45° 30' East true 74 feet along the same to point of beginning, and containing 38800 square feet or about nine tenths of an acre as per surveys made by C.J. Lyons in 1870 and 1873.

.... he amended line is that it continues along the Awini patent to School Street, thence follows the mauka side of School street toward Nuuanu Street to the Livingstone award, thence along said award along its Northwest & North easterly sides to the point of beginning of the former survey, a complete description of the premises claimed is herewith presented in my notes.
The award is made accordingly, in accordance with the above description and the former award is revoked.

In the matter of the application of M.M. Beckwith for the settlement of the boundaries of a certain lot of land in Nuuanu Street, Honolulu, being a portion of the Ili of Kalawahine

Proper application having been made to the Commissioner of Boundaries, and notice having been given to all parties concerned, the matter came on to be heard at the Court House in Honolulu on the 26th of July and the 26th of September 1873, and upon the proofs taken I find the boundaries of the said portion of Kalawahine as follows, to wit.
I. North 41° 20' East true 305 feet along Nuuanu Street;
II. North 47° 00' West true 100 feet along J.T. Waterhouse's;
III. North 42° West true 98 feet along J.T. Waterhouse's;
IV. South 42° 30' West true 56 3/10 feet along Antone's;
V. South 19° 30' West true 27 feet along Royal Patent to Ainini[?];
VI. South 35° 45' West true 153 feet along royal Patent to Ainini;
VII. South 38° 45' West true 107 feet along School Street;
VIII. North 45° 00' East true 37 feet along Award to Livingstone
IX. South 45° 30' East true 66 feet along Award to Livingstone, to point of beginning containing about 95/100 acres
