To: R.F. Bickerton, Esquire, Commissioner of Boundaries for the Island of Oahu
The petition of Kahele (wahine), the widow of Davida Kalanikahua (kane) late of Honolulu Island, of Oahu, deceased and Paahao (kane) her husband of Honolulu aforesaid, respectfully represents as follows:
That the land of Kaahaloa-iki situated at Waikiki, Kona, Island of Oahu aforesaid, was awarded by Commissioners to Quiet Titles by award number 40 by name only to the said Davida Kalanikahua, the former husband of your petitioner.
That after the decease of the said Davida Kalanikahua in 1878, the said land of Kaahaloa-iki came into possession of your petitioner as devised under the last will of said Davida Kalanikahua.
That on the 22d day of September 1882, upon the petition of your petitioner and by the award aforesaid, the boundary of the said land of Kaahaloa-iki was decided and certified and Boundary Certificate was therefore issued by your Honor, and by which Boundary Certificate a Royal Patent for the said land of Kaahaloa-iki was issued in the name of the said Davida Kalanikahua and numbered 7625. And your Petitioner further represents that after the Royal Patent was issued your petitioner ascertained that there was a portion of land belonging to the said land of Kaahaloa-iki, (a Lele) known [page 2] as ‘Hipawai' and situated at Manoa ....

.... f Kona, Island of Oahu, having been filed with me on the [left blank] day of March 1883 by E. Kahele (wahine) and Paahao kane, in accordance with the provisions of an Act to facilitate the settlement of Boundaries &c, approved on the 22 day of June A.D. 1868, now therefore, having duly received and heard all testimony offered in reference to the said boundaries, and having endeavored otherwise to obtain all information possible to enable me to arrive at a just decision, which will more fully appear by reference to the records in the matter by me kept in Book No. 2, page 1, and it appearing to my satisfaction that the true, lawful and equitable boundaries are as follows, viz.:
Beginning at the south corner of this land which is the East corner of Grant 207 at a rock marked X in the stream, the boundary runs
1. North 53° W Magnetic 4.50 chains along Grant 207;
2. North 26 ¼° East magnetic 0.56 chains along Grant 207;
3. North 34° East magnetic 2.06 chains along Land Commission Award 1734 and Grant 1273 to Kaaukai;
4. South 59° East 2.24 chains along Grant 1273 to Kaaukai;
5. North 24 ½° East 0.36 chains along Grant 1273 to Kaaukai;
6. South 69° East 2.15 chains along Land Commission Award 5579 to Kahapapa no Naioeha to the stream;
7. Thence along the stream to place of beginning.
