To the Honorable Rufus A. Lyman, Commissioner of boundaries for the Island of Hawaii, Hawaiian Islands
The Undersigned respectfully represents that he is the owner of the following named lands situated on the Island of Hawaii, Hawaiian islands aforesaid, belonging to the Estate of the late Queen Dowager Kalama, deceased and awarded to her by Land Commission Award No. 4452, from Whom the Undersigned applicant inherited the same, to wit:
1. the Ahupuaa "Waipio, in the District of Hamakua (Apana 5 of said award)
2. Kalahuipuaa, an Ili of Waimea, in the District of Kohala (Apana 3 of said award)
3. Anaehoomalu, an Ili of Waimea in the District of Kohala (Apana 4 of said Award)
4. The Ahupuaa of Kapalaalaea, in the District of North Kona (Apana 2 of said award) and
5. Kalamakumu, an Ili of Napoopoo in the District of south Kona. This land having been patented to the undersigned applicant by Royal Patent 4497 and Land Commission Award 8559.
That the same have not been awarded by the Land Commission, patent is only conveyed by deed from the King by boundaries described in such awards, patent or deed; and therefore he respectfully requests that the boundaries of said lands may be settled by your Honorable Commission, and to that end, make this application to have the same decided and certified by you as Commissioner of Boundaries as aforesaid.
Pursuant to the requirements of the Statute, the Undersigned applicant represents, that the following are the names of the adjoining lands and the names of the owners of the same as far as known to the Undersigned applicant; to wit.
Of the land of Waipio [by] the land of Waikoekoe owned by His Majesty [and] Waimanu, owned by applicant ....

Beginning at the ancient monument known as Keahualono, on the boundary of Kona and Kohala about 150 feet makai of present Government road, the station point being marked by a steel bolt in rock, whence Nohonaohae Trig. Station bears North 87° 14' East true 69170 feet, [page 325] and Puuloa trig. Station bears North 37° 49' East true 75353 feet; the magnetic declination being 8° 40' and running;
North 33° 33' East true 5570 feet along Waikoloa to a large rock on east side of Government road called Pohakuloa (at 4065 feet of this enter aa flow)
North 26° 10' East true 4450 feet along government road by Waikoloa to a pile of stones at Pohakuhele at the southeast corner of Lahuipuaa;
North 50° 5' West true 3360 feet along Lahuipuaa to a large and well known rock called Poahkuloa at the sea coast west of Hiilinaehehe Bay. Thence along the sea coast at high water mark to a point opposite the ancient monument of Hiiaka i ka elei and up to said monument which bears
South 21° 30' West true 10640 feet from the last station;
South 58° 40' East true 1719 feet along Puuanahulu to initial point.
