Testimony
Ukumea, kane, sworn, I was born on Puapua at the time of Kanaokekuakalani. I now live at Puapuaanui; have lived there most of my lifetime; am a kamaaina and know the boundaries. Kelinopa (now dead), my cousin, showed them to me. Bounded on the North side by Piki, the boundary at shore between these two lands is Keawapuapua on the south side of the awa; thence to Puhano, aa above Governor Adams wall. There is an iwi aina from makai up. Kamuupoalua, a neneleau grove; thence along the iwi to the Government road, passing on the South side of Kaluaele, a water hole, thence mauka to Kaaiaua kihapai, the iwi is on the South side of the kihapai; thence to Kahananuialewa, a large rock at the mauka corner of the land, where Puapuanui is cut off by Holualoa. Thence turn towards the sea along Holualoa 1st to Kaopapapa a punawai; thence along the iwi aina Uwaumnui, an [page 261] old kauhale, the boundary runs through this place and to Puapualoa, a cave on the North side of the boundary; thence to Huloa, a resting place above Governor Adams wall; thence to seashore. I do not know the name of this makai point. Bounded makai by the sea. Ancient fishing rights extending out to sea.
Cross-examined.

Know a place called Kahiaholo. Pahoa is below the breadfruit trees on the South side of the boundary. Punapelu is on the boundary below the place I gave at the wall. Know a place called Puapai. It is in the sea, on the boundary. The land was surveyed before by a haole. He surveyed down the length of the land and surveyed cross lines to the points I have mentioned today. I was his kamaaina.

Mahalo, kane, sworn, I was born at Holualoa. Do not know when. Have always lived there. I ....
