The Ahupuaa of Honokohauike, District of North Kona, Island of Hawaii, 3d Judicial Circuit.

On this the 12th day of August AD 1873 the Commission of Boundaries for the 3d Judicial Circuit met at Kailua, North Kona Hawaii for the hearing of the application of J.O. Dominis Agent for Hon. Excellency, R. Keelikolani, for the settlement of the boundaries of the land of Honokohauike, situated in North Kona Island of Hawaii.

Notice to all parties interested in the settlement of boundaries of lands of North and South Kona Hawaii: that the Commissioner of Boundaries for the 3d Judicial Circuit would be prepared to receive applications for the settlement of boundaries of lands in Said Districts at the Court House in Kona on August 2d A.D. 1873 served by publication in the Hawaiian Gazette of July 16th and Kuakoa of July 19, 1873 and adjourned to Kailua on the 12 instant due notice having been served on owners or Agents of adjoining lands, as far as known. Testimony
Hoohio, Sworn: I was born at Kohala Hawaii came to Honokohauike before I could walk and have always lived there since that time know the boundaries of the land they were pointed out to me by my cousin, Nuole who is now dead.

Commencing at the sea shore the boundary between Honokohaunui and Honokohauike is at a place called Kuanawai said place is in the water, thence up the sand beach to a place called Pohakuhaiku a heiau on the pahoehoe, from thence the boundary runs to Puumau an ai aina or ahua, an old resting place where a koa tree used to stand at a crook on the road hence up the iwi aina to Keauakaluapuaa a cave, thence to Ulukukahi a breadfruit tree thence to an ohia tree called Ohia [page 364] kaumaia thence up the iwi aina to Kuakahela a lae ohia fruit trees, thence to Mumuku a breadfruit tree on the North Side.
