Dear Sir
Mr. F.H. Harris is authorized by the commissioners of Crown lands to make application to you as commissioner of Boundaries to have the boundaries of all Crown lands on the Island of Hawaii defined. He has a list of the lands with him.

I have also authorized Mr. F.H. Harris to make application to you for the settlement of boundaries of all lands belonging to Estate of His late Majesty and Her Excellency, R. Keelikolani.

I expect to be in Kona by the trip of the "Kilauea" which leaves here on the 28th instant. Can't you make it convenient to come round as the steamer goes to Hilo on that trip.

I wish also to apply for the settlement of the boundaries of Honohina.

The undersigned would herewith make application for the settlement of the boundaries of the following named Ahupuaa or lands belonging to the Crown, viz.;

Waiakea in the District of Hilo bounded by Keaau, Olaa, Kapapala, Humuula, Piihonua

Piihonua in the District of Hilo, bounded by Punahoa, Waiakea, Humuula and Pueo, Paukaa & Alae and other lands names not known

Ponahawai in the District of Hilo bounded by Punahoa, Kukuau & other small lands.

Cross-examined.

Kaukaliinea, kane, sworn, I was born on Kalaoa 1st after the time of He Kaua ia Kekuaokalani and have always lived there; know the land of Haleohiu and its boundaries. My parents showed them to me. When Fuller surveyed the land they showed him the boundaries. Makaula bounds it on the Kohala side at Kuula.

The boundary between Hamanamana and Haleohiu is Kalaeulua; thence mauka to Kipukaiki; thence mauka to Naipuakahiona; thence to Papaapoo, a cave; thence to Kapahee; thence to Paepaeomalama, a lua kanaka; thence to the Government road; thence to Kalualapa; thence along Kaupulehu; to Nakaiakauhikoa; Ki grows there. Thence to a large ohia tree at the corner of Makaula; thence makai to Maialoa; thence to Kapapai; thence to Puukamana; thence to Ahupuaa at the Government road; thence to Makaula; thence to Kuula at the seashore. Bounded makai by the sea. Ancient fishing rights extending out to sea. The land of Kau does not join this land. There are only three lands bordering on Haleohiu.
Cross-examined.
There is a piece of land sold to Hewahewa from Makaula.

No more witnesses. Case continued till further notice to all parties interested.
