The President, The Honorable Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my claim, which is at Kauilahanau in Lihue, Honouliuli, Ewa, Island of Oahu. It is bounded on the north by Pumaialau, on the east by Kalahiki, on the south by Kawaipapa. .... had received his interest from Kekuamanoha. Maeaea has lived there peacefully to the present time. There is no enclosure, no house on this place ant no one has objected to him.
Keliiaa, sworn and stated, "I have seen this property and everything is just as Paele has related here; however, Maeaea's land had been from Keaona who is his (Maeaea) father. He had received it during Kamehameha I's reign and Maeaea received it during Kamehameha II's time. No one has objected."
