.... rail along land of Puuohai to Ahau; thence along the trail to the junction of Puuohua and this land. Manuloa bounds this land for a short distance; thence the boundary runs along Puuohua to Kiwai or Kahoiwai, a gulch; thence the boundary runs makai along a gulch called Makahiloa to its junction with Ki gulch; Maulua-Nui being on the Hamakua side of this gulch; thence makai along Ki gulch to its junction with Maa gulch, South branch; thence makai along the valley to a place called Pohakuloa; thence makai to shore to between two large rocks. Maulua-Nui belonged to Kekauonohi and Maulua-iki to Kuakini. They had different konohiki and koele. I heard that Haalelea told us at Maulua not to tell that there were two Maulua, as he was going to join them together. Before that there were two lands and different division of feathers, &c, &c, &c.
Hemahema and I went with Mr. Hitchcock when he surveyed the lands and pointed out the boundaries to him and those are the boundaries that I have testified to today.
Cross-examined
D.H. Hitchcock, kane, sworn, I with Hemahema and Hueu surveyed the [page 353] land as they pointed out the boundaries to me. In surveying Maulua-iki, I followed the line pointed out by Hueu between this land and Kaihuike. And these are the notes of survey I have filed today.
Case continued until further notice to all parties interested.
