Notice was published in the Hawaiian Gazette and Kuokoa for a hearing September 185h 1884, but the kamaaina, Kalani not appearing the case was continued until this day.
Present: Kalani, Pilipo, Kaiwi, and others.
[left blank] states that he now owns the portion of Grant No. 1542 makai of the Government Road and that the Grant was surveyed along the true boundary between Kakopa and Kulaikahono.
Evidence
Kalani, kane, sworn, I am a kamaaina of this land, Kulaikahono and the adjoining lands, Kaakepa and Laimi. I have lived there nearly all my life, and formerly owned the adjoining land covered by Grants No. 1357 of Kanukupuu, and the portion of No. 1542, of Puniawa, lying makai of the Government Road. I saw these Grants surveyed by Henry Lyman, as also Hema's (Kealohawela) Grant No. 2710; they were surveyed along the correct boundary of Kulaikahono and Kaakepa; the boundary is a small gulch at the sea which runs out before it reaches the mauka end of Kanukupuu; the boundary follows up a hollow to the Government Road, and fro thence there is no natural boundary.
On the side adjoining Laimi the stream of water in the gulch is the boundary between Kulaikahono and Laimi, from the sea to the end of the land, in the woods; I do not know where th ....
