.... mano and on the Hamakua side by Kemau 2. Thence the boundary between Kemau 1st and Kamaui runs to the gulch called Kaumoali, and is bounded on the Hamakua side by Kemau 2d; thence the boundary leaves the gulch and runs to a grove of koa trees called Kaumumoa. The place called Papakoi is near hear [sic]. Thence makai to Kaohialuio, a place just makai of a rock marked X, the mauka corner on portion of Kemau surveyed.
Cross-examined
The two lands Kemau and Pohakuhaku join to the Government road and from thence to the seashore. Puehu's purchase comes between them.
Kupa, kane, sworn, I was born at Waimea at the time of Kahulupio; lived in Hamakua ever since I was a small boy, to the present day (moved to Hamakua two years before the building of Kiholo). Know these two lands, and have heard a part of the boundaries from kamaaina.
Know a place called Kaluakii. Kaulekohao bounds Pohakuhaku from this place to opposite Puuanapouli, there it is cut off by Kamaui to Puuanapouli, where Kamaui joins Kemau; thence the boundary between these lands runs in a small gulch to Puulehuea, where Kamaui cuts Kemau off, to a ridge where Kemau 1st and Kemau 2d join. Thence the boundary between Kemau 1 and Kemau 2d runs makai passing Kaumumoa to Kaohialuio, the mauka corner of portion surveyed. I was told that the land has been surveyed to this point.
