To the Honorable Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my claim. This land is at Panahaha at Honouliuli. It is bounded on the north by the stream of Makaii, on the east by the pond of Panahaha, on the south by the land of Mokumeha, on the west by the land of Pio. It was Kawaa who gave it to me.

Kawahea, sworn and said, "I have seen this place and everything is as Mokumakuaole has just related here, but I have no interest there; the konohiki has retained it."
